The National Law Universities (NLUs) in India are some of the country’s most prestigious and highly sought-after institutions for legal education. 1. National Law School of India University Bangalore

A fantastic law school called the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) was founded in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It was established in 1986 by the Government of Karnataka and is recognized as one of the top NLUs in India.

2. National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University of Law

NALSAR University of Law is a prestigious law school in Hyderabad, India. The Andhra Pradesh government founded it in 1998. In addition to PhD degrees, the university also provides undergraduate and graduate law studies.

3. West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences 

West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), a renowned law school in Kolkata, India, provides various graduate programs in law. It was founded in 1999 by the West Bengali government and is included in the list of NLUs under CLAT exam standards.

4. National Law Institute University Bhopal

One of India’s top law schools is the National Law Institute University (NLIU) in Bhopal. The institution was established in 1997 and offered undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate law degrees. The university ranks under the top NLU list in India due to its strong academic program and highly qualified faculty.

5. Hidayatullah National Law University

In Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India, there is a renowned legal school called Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU). It was founded in 2003 and is a fully residential institution that grants law undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate degrees. This NLU is the last in the list of top 5 NLUs in India. 

6. Gujarat National Law University 

In Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, there is a public law university called Gujarat National Law University (GNLU). It was founded in 2003 by the Gujarat National Law University Act 2003, and the Indian Bar Council approved it. GNLU is a part of both organizations as an Associate of Indian Universities and Commonwealth University.

7. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University 

In Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, there is a National Law University called Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU). It was founded in 2005 by the UP National Law University Act to offer students in the state a top-notch legal education.

8. National Law University Delhi

The National Law University (NLU) Delhi is a traditional judicial institution in Delhi, India. It was founded in 2008 and is now regarded as one of the best legal education facilities in the nation. 9. Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law 

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) is a national law university in Punjab, India. Established in 2006, the university offers undergraduate law, graduate, and doctoral programs. It is recognized by the Bar Council of India and is affiliated with the University Grants Commission. 

10. National Law University Jodhpur

National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) is a premier national law university in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. It was established in 1999 by the Government of Rajasthan through an Act of the State Legislative Assembly. NLUJ is a member of the National Law Universities (NLU) consortium, which includes many of the top law schools in the country.

11. National University of Advanced Legal Studies 

In Kochi, Kerala, India, there is a national law school called the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS). It was established in 2005 by the Government of Kerala and is affiliated with the University of Kerala. The NUALS offers undergraduate and postgraduate legal programs and is among the best on the list of all NLUs in India.

12. National Law University Odisha 

National Law University Odisha (NLUO) is a public law school in Cuttack, Odisha. It was established in 2009 and is recognized by the Bar Council of India. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in law, including a 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B. program, an LL.M. program, and a PhD program. 

13. Chanakya National Law University 

Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) is a public law school in Patna, Bihar, India. It was established in 2006 by the Government of Bihar and is recognized by the Bar Council of India. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in law. 

14. National Law University Jammu

National Law University, Jammu, is a state university located in Jammu, Jammu, and Kashmir, India. It was established in 2018 by the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature under the National Law University Act 2018. 

15. Tamil Nadu National Law University

Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) is a prestigious national law school in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. The school was established in 2012 by the Government of Tamil Nadu and is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University.

16. National Law University and Judicial Academy

National Law University and Judicial Academy (NLUJA), Assam, is a public law school in Guwahati, Assam, India. It was established in 2009 by the Government of Assam and is recognized by the Bar Council of India. 17. National University of Study and Research in Law 

The National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) is a public university in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. It was established in 2010 by the Government of Jharkhand as the first national law university in the state. 18. Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University 

Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU) is a national law university located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The university was established in 2008 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and is named after Damodaram Sanjivayya, a former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

19. Maharashtra National Law University 

Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Mumbai is a state university located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It was established in 2014 to provide high-quality legal education to students in the state. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in law and Ph.D.
